Facebook launches “Smart Crop” for Videos 

A new smart tool identifies the most interesting areas, which can be reused. Now, this feature is available in the Creator Studio upload flow. Smart Crop automatically generates a 1:1 or 4:5 version of any clip using machine learning. This feature allows reviewing and publishing a video directly from the Studio. If you’ve got a lot of videos to work with, this tool is well worth experimenting with it. So, SM managers would probably be the first users.

Facebook provides new Tools for Group Admins 

Facebook Groups get new Admin Tools. An updated Admin Home is the biggest addition with its simplified and more intuitive interface. “To Review” option allows admins to review things that require attention. Now new comment moderation allows setting own criteria around items moderated and even moderate posts and comments, basing on it. It also gives an opportunity to approve or decline participation in the group based on specific criteria, provides anti-spam tools, Conflict Alerts and other useful options. In other words, it’s a very handy set of tools to streamline the work of SM managers.

Instagram tests Video and Image Uploads from PC 

This is a kind of long-awaited news. Instagram finally started testing this option. For now, only a small group of users can has access to the full set of posting tools. As soon as add a video or a picture, you’ll get access to the editing tools as well. This option doesn’t work for Reels or Stories now, but most probably it will be tested pretty soon. This new feature will significantly streamline the work of SM managers and those, who access the app from PC.

Twitter users can now apply for testing Super Follow and Ticketed Spaces 

Twitter pushes ahead its creator monetization to let creators make money. Users get the chance to charge for joining Spaces. In this way Twitter significantly outplays Clubhouse in the race. Super Follow is also going to get a monthly charge for its additional content.

Twitter ads a small improvement to the Spaces 

Twitter rolled out a minor improvement to the audio Spaces. Now, at the top of the screen you are given an “Add Speakers” option. You can also see the names of the speakers, who have already joined, and the number of how many users can still be added. For now Spaces can host up to 11 users including a speaker. It is just a minor change, aimed at simplifying the process and attracting more users through it, especially in the time of rising challenges. For now, Twitter Spaces turns out to be the most advanced one out of Clubhouse and Facebook audio rooms.

Twitter launches the first paid newsletter “Tomorrow” 

That is the first official paid newsletter on Twitter. “Tomorrow” provides weather forecasts in 16 regions in the US for now. With time the weather newsletter is going to be catered to the users worldwide. Eric Holthaus, who is a meteorologist, will run the project. From the start monthly price will be $10. The subscription guarantees the answer to the unlimited number of questions regarding weather, access to uncut interviews and podcasts, a weekly newsletter etc.

WhatsApp allows speeding up the voice message playback 

That is a pretty useful option for lovers of voice messages. Now you can play the message at2.0x regular speed, as well as a regular one. At first, desktop users first got access to this option, but pretty soon both iOS and Android users will get it. But you will have to change the settings each time after you’ve once changed it, or it will remain the same.

WhatsApp updates its Business API 

Facebook seeks to improve Customer Connection and develop monetization tools. From now, businesses get a set of wider use cases, so it will support a wider range of message types. In the meantime, as a part of anti-spam policy limits the number of messages a company can send to a customer. Besides that, WhatsApp provides quick responses to messages line with Messenger. So now companies get an option of wider use of the app in their business strategy.
