November Social Media Digest

Christmas is around the corner. Have you decorated your Christmas tree? If not, you still have some time to do it and buy presents. In the meantime, we’ve got some SM updates for you to implement this holiday season. Are you ready for the November Social Media Digest?

Meta rolls out new tools for creators

Every marketer is dreaming about being able to optimize their marketing strategy. Meta is trying to encourage users to post Reels. Now A/B testing is the first feature they roll out. So now a creator can create 4 types of Reels, different captions, and thumbnails. Each version is distributed among different audiences. In half an hour you will get the winner.

As a result, the winner will be shown to the rest of the audience. Creators also got a new option to create Reels from existing videos. From now on you can choose ‘Your content’ as a source. After choosing the right clip a user can trim or edit it. Meta also rolled out a new management tool and Reels metrics.

Instagram now allows users to choose the audience for their Reels

That is a relatively new option though Notes and Reels have been doing great on Instagram. Now users transition from Feed posting to DM and posting to friends only. So, in an attempt to keep users in the app and post there, Instagram provided an option to post Reels to ‘Close Friends’. This feature became available in November and it makes sense since many users shy away from posting publicly.

Threads gives a chance to deactivate an account

Initially, when Threads were rolled out users were not able to delete their account without impacting their IG presence. This issue has been addressed and now users have an option to. The settings on the app have two options: either to delete or deactivate your account. You’ve got a month (30 days) to activate your account or it will be deleted permanently.

WhatsApp provides extra security

Well, in November users got an option to protect their chats in a different way. To provide extra security for your chats you can now set up a unique pin for every chat on the app. You can even hide those chats from the whole list and only pops up after typing a code in a search bar. By the way, you don’t have to go through the settings to activate the feature, you can long-press the chat to access this feature.
